We have covered several interesting features of \u201ciHomoMate\u201d<\/strong><\/em> in the earlier articles. In this article, we will take a look at the most important and most useful feature: Intelligent Case Analysis<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Decades ago, when computer repertories were not available, Homeopaths used hard copies of Repertories to study a case and the confirm the remedy with Materia Medica. These days they use Repertorization software (RadarOpus, SHS, MacRepertory, Vision<\/strong><\/em>, etc.) for their daily prescribing. This has definitely resulted in reduced time taken to solve cases, possibly increasing the accuracy of prescription as well. One common challenge in both the above scenarios is the identification of important symptoms in the case and translating them to repertory<\/em> language. Of course, even after repertorization is over, the first<\/em><\/strong> remedy to appear in the table is not always the best<\/strong><\/em> remedy. Software such as Vithoulkas Compass<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0have managed to \u201ccodify\u201d<\/strong><\/em> and \u201cinternalize\u201d<\/strong><\/em> expert knowledge, suggesting the suitable remedy automatically once the repertorization is over.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With the advent of Generative AI, \u201ciHomeoMate\u201d<\/strong><\/em> takes the case analysis experience<\/em> to a whole new level. The Homeopath can enter the case details in an unstructured, natural language form<\/em> (including the interview mode, if that is captured) in the \u201cIntelligent Case Analysis\u201d<\/strong> <\/em>window, along with images, if any. When the \u201cSubmit\u201d<\/strong><\/em> button is clicked, the system intelligently goes through the entire case detail, including attached images, and comes up with a detailed analysis along with its recommended remedy.<\/p>\n

Let us look at an example. This case is taken from old homeopathy literature (case is recorded in the year 1888). The remedy prescribed was \u201cArgentum Nitricum\u201d<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

As you can see, the system has correctly identified \u201cArgentum Nitricum\u201d<\/strong><\/em> as the best remedy for this case. It even includes suggestion regarding the potency to be chosen.<\/p>\n

What I personally like about this is the step-by-step analysis of the case, leading to the remedy. If needed (I strongly recommend this), the homeopath can now manually confirm the remedy by going through Materia Medica.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cAnalysis Method\u201d<\/strong><\/em> chosen for this case is \u201cClassical\u201d<\/strong><\/em>. This approach will work if there are sufficient details in the case record to prescribe a remedy. Sometimes, we will just want to do a \u201cQuick Check\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, when the symptoms are not too many (often in acute cases). Here is such an example:<\/p>\n

In this example, the system does not go through the detailed step-by-step analysis as in the case of \u201cClassical\u201d<\/strong> <\/em>approach. The analysis is short and to the point.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As is clearly demonstrated in both the cases, what distinguishes \u201ciHomeoMate\u201d<\/strong><\/em> from the other homeopathy software is that the input is \u201cunstructured\u201d<\/strong><\/em> text – just the case description as it is. This is great time saver for practicing doctors, which means they can help more patients in the given time!<\/p>\n
