The two most widely referenced books on Tamil Poetry grammar are <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ta.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/\u0baf\u0bbe\u0baa\u0bcd\u0baa\u0bb0\u0bc1\u0b99\u0bcd\u0b95\u0bb2\u0b95\u0bcd_\u0b95\u0bbe\u0bb0\u0bbf\u0b95\u0bc8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yapperungalakkarigai<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>and <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ta.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/\u0ba4\u0ba3\u0bcd\u0b9f\u0bbf\u0baf\u0bb2\u0b99\u0bcd\u0b95\u0bbe\u0bb0\u0bae\u0bcd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thandialangaram<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I have had the pleasure of studying both as a High School student a few decades ago. They still continue to amaze me!<\/p>\n<p>Just as <em><strong>Tamil<\/strong><\/em> poetry, <em><strong>English<\/strong><\/em> poetry too has a well defined structure. Most of us will be familiar with <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Haiku_in_English\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Haiku<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, but there are other intricate and complex forms including <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sestina#:~:text=A%20sestina%20(Italian%3A%20sestina%2C,by%20a%20three%2Dline%20envoi.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Sestina<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Villanelle#:~:text=The%20villanelle%20is%20an%20example,distinguishing%20feature%20of%20the%20villanelle.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Villanelle<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pantoum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Pantoum<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, etc.<\/p>\n<p>What if we try to apply <em><strong>Tamil<\/strong><\/em> poetry grammar to <em><strong>English<\/strong><\/em> poems and vice versa? Sounds like an interesting idea, isn\u2019t it?
